STOCK is simply a
representation of ownership in a company. Corporations all over the world issue
stock to generate capital so that they may expand and stay competitive. Here are
some facts about stock in general to help you better understand this security. |

There are several forms of stock (e.g. common, preferred, convertible, etc.) that
a company may issue depending on the issuing company's financial status and economic
conditions.
The classification
(e.g. growth, income, cyclical, etc.) of stock that a company issues is dependant
primarily on the kind of business that the issuing company engages in.
Various Stock
Exchange listing criteria.
Corporations issue dividends as a way
of distributing earnings of the company to its owners.
Occasionally, a company will record a
stock split in order to keep the stock price low.
